At TheGigRig.com we are proud of the fantastic musicians who have chosen TheGigRig products to get the absolute best out of their gear. Here are just a few:
To see Guthrie play live with Steven Wilson was an astonishing experience, one I hope to repeat many more times. And at his (and Steve's) feet is TheGigRig. Here's what one of the world's greatest guitar players had to say about his MIDI 14
"This new GigRig board is exactly what I needed for the Steven Wilson tour. SW's music requires me to switch instantaneously between all kinds of bizarre pedal combinations, and the GigRig not only allows me to do this effortlessly but also preserves the purity of the basic guitar/amp tone wherever possible, which is most pleasing.
It's very clear that this product was invented by someone who's had a lot of experience as a gigging musician:
it solves all the "real life" pedal board problems without introducing any unnecessary complications. Nice one Daniel "
Undoubtedly one of the greatest guitarists of all time, Jeff uses 3 Loopy2's to enable him to switch in his effects and to ensure his tone is kept intact when the effects are bypassed.
Check out the pic of Jeff in April's edition of MOJO magazine where you can see his Loopy2's.
Click on the pic of Jeff to see an amazing photo by Ross Halfin of the man in action.
Truly a guitarist that needs no introduction, the man is legendary, as is his tone. We had the privilege of configuring the power for Larry's European touring pedalboard which the great man is over the moon with. If you need proffesional power for a touring pedalboard, then you really need to check out our modular power system.
Steven Wilson - Porcupine Tree
Steven Wilson is the musical force behind 'Porcupine Tree'. "The Gigrig Midi-8 solved all my patching problems in a second. Sonically superior, this is an unbelievably flexible switching system that lets me integrate classic and contemporary guitar technology without sacrificing convenience or quality."
Dan Hawkins - The Darkness
"One in the eye for the airlines and a shot in the arm for rock! The Darkness backline is a big, heavy apparatus so flying between gigs or playing smaller shows has always been a problem. Now, with the Midi 8, I've got a small, light and robust unit with all the programmability and external switching options I need and I can now take my most vital sounds around the world as check in baggage. Thanks to The Gig Rig, I've got the best of the Big Rig anywhere I need it"
Dan Hawkins - The Darkness
Jay Mehler - Kasabian
Kasabian are one of the most important bands to come out of the UK in the last 10 years. Guitarist Jay Mehler uses the Pro-14 to ensure he's getting the best tone possible from his set-up.
"TheGigRig Pro-14 is the foundation of my live sound" - Jay Mehler
There's a great picture of Jay and his rig on our 'Your Rigs' page which you can check out here...
Kurt Rosenwinkel is widely regarded as the most influential Jazz guitarist in the last decade. I have been a fan of Kurt's music for a little over a year and was at a clinic where Robben Ford described him as the best guitarist he's heard in a long time. The man is, quite simply, astounding. Here's what Kurt had to say about TheGigRig gear he's been using on his recent US tour.
so I wanted to give you a report from my three gigs with the gigrig stuff, in a word, awesome! My tone is better than it's ever been, truly, and I attribute much of that to the quality of 1. The power, 2. The Quartermaster, 3. The Wetboxes, and 4. The Z-Cable, which is just absolutely amazing! I mean it is really having an incredibly positive effect on the sound and feel of the guitar, a real breakthrough right there. The tonal sculpting it provides give me something I have been looking for for a long time - being able to affect how the guitar responds so I am really thrilled and I so appreciate all you have done to make this happen for me."
(I can admit to dispatching a dangerous number of high fives upon receiving this email...)

If you've never heard Wayne Krantz play, you need to rectify the situation immediately! Wayne is a truly gifted musician and combines a wonderful sense of beautiful, at times complex but never inaccessible melody with a seemingly boundless technique and incredible sense of harmony. Wayne is using TheGigRig HumDinger to drive is two amp rig.
Ace - Skunk Anansie
I'd been wondering when Ace was going to call. I know of his love for effects and textures, and think the guy gets a pretty outrageous guitar tone. Ace needed a simple, yet sonically spectacular true-bypass looper to help him quickly and easily dial in his tones while tracking the new Skunk Anansie album so we sent Ace the first ever QuarterMaster 10. What did he think?
The quarter master is quality and simplicity at its streamlined best.
An understated awesome slab of inconspicuous technology creating the great escape from the tone sucking monsters of the studio pedal combinations in my recording process... Oh and it saves my knees too from all that pulling and re-plugging different combinations all day!
Oh Dan, you really are the true superhero of tone saviours!
.... And knees
Paul Stacey - Oasis, Finn Brothers, Black Crowes
Paul is one of my favourite guitarists ever. It wouldn't be exaggerating to say that his performances at the 606 club in London have fundamentally changed the way I think about guitar. He was one of our first clients and has recently toured with the Black Crowes using his new black MIDI-8 and wer'e honoured to have him on board.
Aziz Ibrahim - Stone Roses, Simply Red, Asia, Steven Wilson
When Aziz contacted me about putting a board together for his tour with Porcupine Tree's Steven Wilson, I knew it was going to be a very special board. I spent days with Aziz getting the rig together, and during that time, heard Aziz play some of the most amazing music ever to grace my wing nuts! The guy is an incredible and inspiring musician, and I urge you if you ever have the opportunity go and catch him live. Click here... to see the pedal board we put together
"I can honestly say that The GigRig products have changed my life. My relationship between my guitar and amp have never been better. As for my pedals, perfect combinations, levels, power, never getting in the way when not needed, no buffer problems and best of all no buzz or hum!
Special thanks for the on the spot loopy 6 device, as if by magic. - Aziz "
Donny Little - Paolo Nutini
Donny plays guitar for the incredibly talented Paolo Nutini. He uses a MIDI-8 which is now central to his rig.
"I used to avoid using effects live because it messed with the tone I loved, now I can use the effects I want without compromise. If you value real guitar tone you need one of these"

Jeffrey Kunde - Jesus Culture
"The GiG RiG. This is my pedal power supply system. It totally rules. Works all over the world, powers all my pedals, runs off of only one IEC power chord, and has cut to length cables for each of my pedals so it all ends up looking real tidy and nice. I also have their 12v and 15v adapters/converter guys that power my weird voltage pedals too.. and those just connect to the regular 9v ends. This power supply system changed my world. I love it."
Patrick Matera - Katy Perry
Katy Perry's Patrick Matera has been using and loving his Pro-14 since May 2010.
"hi daniel... Just to let you know that the gigrig is working out great, i really love how easy it is to use. thanks again, very happy with the gigrig!
Jacob Petersen - Steve Miller Band
The GigRig preformed flawlessly on my two month summer tour this year, We played many gigs @ 100 degrees and high humidity and and I had ZERO problems. I'm positive that no other switching system would have done the job equal or better than The GigRig.
The GigRig is the simplest and most reliable switching system available and it's built like a tank. That's what I love about it. Their customer service is also top notch
I found The GigRig to be the hands down best switching system on the market.
Freddie Cowan - The Vaccines
When I saw The Vaccines play on 'Later with Jules Holland' I was bowled over. I loved their sound and their songs. Of course looking at Freddie's set up I knew he would benefit from having a MIDI-8 at his feet. The very next day I get an email from his management asking if we could get one to him. Here's what he says after 6 months of touring and plying with his MIDI-8.
"apart from the tonal improvement achieved from choosing any eight six pedal combinations patched clean through six true bypass fx loops, what I really love about the gig rig is it's flexibility. From discovering it's midi mode which turns the gig rig into a virtually limitless midi out controller to using the mode 2 pedal switching function (which allows the most pedal combinations and maximum creativity) the gig rig effortlessly accommodates fx development and I still feel like I'm scratching the surface of what I can get out of it. A truly unique and unrivalled controller - in my setup it's an essential piece of kit"
Steve Mac - Australian Pink Floyd Show
Steve Mac from the Australian Pink Floyd Show has those incredible Gilmour tones absolutely nailed. Here' what he had to say about his WetBox
Thanks again for sending me out one of your 'Wet Boxes". I loved what it did when combined with my RAT2 as it certainly gave the notes more tone and definition by mixing the unaffected signal back in. I can see a host of applications for it in my rig. It's quite scary really!"
Nick Barrett - Pendragon
"A lot of what I do guitarwise is about heart, soul and emotion.
The Gigrig gear IS the road to finding the Holy Grail of tone that enables me to
get proper guitar sounds that really capture heart, soul and emotion because it's built by
guitarists who utterly understand that philosophy".
Dishan Abrahams - Sugababes, Kylie Minogue
"Question 1: If you add "x" to a bass player who is a bad dancer you get happiness. Find "x" and show all working out and your conclusion.
bass player + bad dancer + x = Happiness, Answer: Therefore x = Gigrig Midi 8
Conclusion: If you don't wanna dance around on stage trying to switch off 3 pedals at once and accidentally switching your tuner on just when you're supposed to go into a bass solo in front of 20,000 people (never happened to me by the way) sort yourself out with a Gigrig."
Chris Shepperson - Our Helical Mind
"I'd been searching for the perfect power supply to run my huge set up and had pretty much given up the hunt by the time I spoke with Dan. What the Modular Power System promised seemed to good to be true, but I'm happy to say it delivers! I get to run my entire set up off a single mains plug no matter where in the world I am, with no noise and I get to live in the knowledge that all my pedals are being well looked after.
Throw the excellent QuarterMaster in the mix and TheGigRig have pretty much single handedly revolutionised my pedalboard!"
Colin Edwin - Porcupine Tree
When you go and see Porcupine Tree live, (and you really should, they're phenomenal!) it's TheGigRig on Steve, Wes and Colin's pedal boards sorting out all their pedal and amp switching. 3 of a perfect pair indeed.
"Thanks to my Gigrig Pro-14 I can easily explore previously tricky combinations of pedals for extra sonic exploration and tonal flexibility. It's solidly built, a neat solution to messy cabling, and easily stands up to the rigours of touring, I can't imagine my set-up without it."
John Wesley - Porcupine Tree
"The GigRig has become an essential part of all aspects of my performing and recording set up. The Pro 14 performed so well live that I decided to use it for the recording of the "Fear of a Blank Planet" guitar sessions. It was used on all the guitar tracks we recorded for that album and was so vital, that I eventually added a MIDI 8 permanently to our studio, and then added a second MIDI 8 to my home studio where I record all of my guitar tracks. A Pro 14 for my touring rig, two MIDI 8s for session work. I think that pretty much says it all."
Bruce Welch - The Shadows
For the last Shadows tour Bruce needed to power his small pedal board and mix in the wet effect from his reverb pedal. The Generator to power his pedals and the WetBox to mix his reverb to keep his analog signal path pure were the answer. You can see a shot of his pedal board on the latest Shadows live DVD.
Dave Gregory - XTC, Big Big Train, Tin Spirits
Dave Gregory from XTC is my favourite guitarist on the planet. His incredible playing and ability to orchestrate unique parts has influenced a generation of musicians including Graham Coxon (Blur) and Johny Greenwood (Radiohead). The XTC albumns 'English Settlement' and 'Skylarking' are essential listening for any guitarist with a flare for creative genius.
Dave uses TheGigRig MIDI-8 to seemlessly control his pedals and his amazing Matchless C30. See Dave in his new band 'Tin Spirits'.
Uli Brodersen is a german guitar player who is well known for his great combination of jazz and pop/rock music on the guitar. He plays with his own band and records for other artists. He is the founder of one of the best private guitar schools in Germany, the 'Brodersen Guitar Institute'.
I´m using my Pro-14 for almost 2 years now. This incredible piece of gear improved my sound a lot. I recorded a lot of tracks in the studio with the Pro-14 and now I don`t have to tap-dance around when it comes to the live gigs. Thanks a lot. Greetings from Germany
Austrian Guitarist Wolfgang Pointer is a gifted jazz/ fusion player and has accompanied artists such as Randy Brecker (the Brecker Brothers), Bob Mintzer (Yellowjackets), Nils Landgren, Rob McConnel, Attila Zoller, Dave Liebman and Boby Shew and also teaches at the Institute for Popular Music in Vienna/Austria.
I've been using your MIDI 14 for some time now and just had to email and tell what a great product I think it is. I've been playing Jazz/Fusion professionally for 25 years and teach my instrument at the University in Vienna. One of my students told me about the GigRig and after all that positive feedback I went online and thought I will give it a try. It's perfect! And my biggest surprise was the sound, all my old pedals sound so much better.
Thank you and keep up the good work - Wolfgang Pointner"
Jonas Jalhay - Taio Cruz, Taylor Swift, Lady sovereign, The Saturdays
Jonas is an incredible young guitarist playing with a host of some of the biggest names in the business.
" I love the gigrig products, I'm a rig freak and I love how easy it is to swap pedals and change set-up with the midi 8. I also use the Humdinger quite a bit... beautifully silent! But my favorite one is still the awesome generator power supply, it's so adaptable and at the center of every rig I'v used"
Ross Martin - absent elk
My Pro 14 comes everywhere with me. It has transformed my tone for the better, and minimised my tap dancing on stage. You won't believe the difference this will make to your tone if you use more than a couple of pedals. I can switch between amps, and any combination of my effects, at the touch of a single button. Prior to the Pro 14 this would have required the touch of 10 or so buttons for some songs in my set! It's built like a tank, 100% reliable, and makes my life easier (more toneful too!) Then there's the the peace of mind I get from knowing that if a patch cable or pedal bites the dust mid set, I can instantly switch it right out of my signal chain ...Has saved the day on more than one occasion!
Calum MacColl - Ronan Keating, Rufus Wainwright
"The first thing that amazed me with my Pro14 was running my old Tele through it with no effects patched in. The first time through a pedalboard where it sounded like a Tele again! This system is fabulous, really well thought out and built to relentlessly gig. The switching options are fantastic....I use mine with a combination of dedicated pedal switching and combinations. Individual pedal level boost is great, as is the master boost for using different level guitars live (or as that extra boost). Not only do my guitars sound as they should again, my pedals do too. Big and fat. Also, if a pedal or cable goes down, it doesnt wreck your gig.
Dan and the guys are really helpful, their service is top. Its an indispensible piece of kit. Whats not to love??"
Dave Wood - Jesse McCartney, Hilary Duff
Dave's bio is simply amazing. Apart from Jesse McCartney and Hilary Duff (hello ladies) his credits include Taylor Hicks, Norah Jones, Antonio Sanchez (Pat Metheny), Maria Schneider and Franklin Vanderbilt Jr. (Stevie Wonder) to name but a few
"As far as my Pro-14 is concerned, nothing I've ever purchased has had such an affect on my tone and overall happiness with my sound. Studio use, touring....it's an absolute necessity. Daniel goes over and beyond the call of duty on customer support...couldn't ask for anything more"
Nik Tongue- Steve Vai, Mike Keneally (Frank Zappa), Mike Mangini (Extreme), Nutty Wailer (Bob Marley)
Nik has toured and played with some of the most experienced artists in the music industry and as much as he loves to entertain a crowd, he's also spent a large portion of his life teaching growing guitar players how to captivate an audience through tricks and techniques that surpass theory.
"The MIDI-8 allows me to access complex pedal combinations with a single stomp (instead of 3 or 4), but still allows me to select my pedal choice live, something I've not experienced with pre-programmable effect rigs AND still keeps my tone as unadulterated as possible."
Mark Sheehan - The Script
If you're touring the world in one of the biggest bands to come out of Ireland in the last few years you need to now your gear is not going to let you down. This is why Mark Sheehan relies on his Pro-14 night after night, tour after tour.

"I've been using the Midi 8 for nearly 2 years now and it hasn't let me down once. I've played every kind of gig from small club to stadium and it does the business every time. It's totally reliable and Keeps the tone of the bass as it was intended."
Rob Harris - Jamiroquai
"The Pro 14 has truly improved my tone. I can finally use all of the cool stomp boxes I want without my guitar sounding tiny at the end of the chain. My effects now sound full rather than watered down and washy. Also using the programmable patching switches my rig is now much more versatile. An incredible system."
Paul Turner - Jamiroquai, Annie Lennox
"As a long time fan of old pedals I had a true bypass strip from another company and thought I'd done as much as possible. When it needed a service, I compared The Gig Rig I was honestly shocked. The quality of signal is SO much cleaner and compares to bass > amp direct. Being able to match levels of my old favourites with trim pots is the lick, especially for live use and it's great to have this in the studio too. Dan and the guys at The Gig Rig know their stuff and I can't imagine anyone else coming close."
Martin Waugh - Lilly Allen, Mika
When you play guitar for the hotest artist in the UK you need your gear to be the best. Here's what Martin had to say about his unit of choice, TheGigRig MIDI-8. "For a box that doesn't give you any sounds it's by far the best investment any amateur or pro working muso can make to operate all your pedals... with one stomp AND it doesn't mess with your tone!"
Steve Rothery - Marillion
Marillion guitarist Steve Rothery knows great tone. That's why he uses TheGigRig Pro-14 to make sure he gets the best out of his gear. You can't argue with albumn sales over 20 million now can you?
Owen Barry - Purple Melon
"The GigRig gadgets are the best! They allow me to be as creative as i want
with my gear, without the usual headaches I've previously had...Powering, wiring and
switching multiple pedals.
Daniel Steinhardt is the Aspirin to my Pedal board migraines...Thank you Sir!"
"I have just played a big open air show with my Pro-14, playing for Martin Fry (ABC),Carol Decker (T`Pau) and Nik Kershaw, sound was so much better than my last setup, I was really amazed, also I could concentrate more on my playing, since changing sounds isn`t that complicated anymore.
Nick Fyffe - TheNewNo2, Eric Hassle
Nick Fyffe has plyed, recorded and toured with some of the biggest names in the business including Jamiroquai, ShapeShifters, Hard-Fi and is currently performing with Dhanni Harrisons's band 'TheNewNo2' and Eric Hassle.
"My MIDI-8 is amazing. If you use a few pedals, It makes no sense to NOT get one!, and with my Wet Box my fuzz and overdrive sounds have the weight they'd been missing. Thanks a million"
When I first heard Brett play with John Farnham it was a life changing experience. His playing on the Whispering Jack album is still some of my favourite guitar playing.
We were designing the WetBox when Brett got in touch with a problem with using his pedals in his amp's effects loop. I have just the thing I thought, and send him a pre-production WetBox.
"Thanks to the Gig Rig all my fx loop problems are solved!"
Danny Jones - McFly
As the front man for McFly, the last thing Danny Jones needs to worry about is the dreaded tap dance and 'tone sucking' from chained effects, so he uses The Gig Rig MIDI-8. "Legendary pedal, makes everything alot easier. Solves all the tap dancing and is definitely worth every penny. The tone of the Badcats shine through. Loving your work!"
Russell Lissack - Bloc Party
Russel uses 3 HumDingers so he can run 4 amps at the same time with no phase problems and no earth loops.
"Really happy with the humdingers in my rig, its an awesome sound"
Badgerman - Dweeb
"Hi Dan, just wanted to say a big thanks for TheGigRig! The Pro-14 has quite literally saved my life! here's a pic of it in action at Green Belt last weekend!
Click here to see the pic Badgerman sent me!
Ivor Sims - Lucky Soul
The Midi-8 really has changed my gigging life. Before when trying to go from a "rhythm sound" to an full blow solo with overdrive, boost, delay etc it was an epic tap-dance to try and fit it all into 2 beats! The GigRig has simplified this into a one touch setup when all of my sounds are just one tap away and the best bit is that when I don't need the effects they are taken completely out of the signal chain; its just guitar-cable-amp.
Ashley Dasher - Unhindered
"I've been using the gigrig for about a year now and have no idea how I've played live for so long withough it. I'm able to enjoy the show and playing much more now that I can have one preset switch on up to 14 of my effects pedals simultaneously yet still have the ability to call up individual effects pedals for creativity on stage. The fact that all my pedals are true bypassed and only brought into the signal path when they are called upon is amazing! Daniel (the owner of thegigrig.com) has really been amazing and very prompt at answering any questinos that I've had and has been a big support. All in all, "It doesn't get any better than this!" Thanks Daniel...
Tim Parchouse - China Style
"If you like your stompers you need one of these period. Sell a kidney, donate sperm for a couple of months! Do whatever it takes. It will be worth it! Absolutely love the bypass feature so you've always got a straight to amp reference point! I've tried so many things & made a lot a bad gear decisions in my time usually involving digital stuff. There is finally something that makes the transition from all singing all dancing digital effects boxes to an all analog signal path a viable option. Something I've always wanted to do. Save yourself the bother and just buy one of these. It will be the best cash you've ever spent, In the pedal world at least!"
Click here to see a pic of Tim's board hosted on the Pete Cornish website
Stephen Dale Petit
"OK here's the deal. Daniel Steinhardt is a sonic genius. The Gig Rig set up he designed for me is innovative, easy to use and adaptable to any tweaks I need. Daniel has an encyclopedic and exhaustive knowledge of effects pedals and how they behave, and a players feel for what works on stage. He's a true professional who will leave no stone unturned to get you the best possible sound. The guitar-to-amp tone I get is always pure with The Gig Rig. The result is that I am inspired on a nightly basis to push my performances to new levels, and to explore textures & sounds that I would never have had access to without The Gig Rig. It's a guitarists dream."
Brendan Mowat-Smith is fast establishing himself as a guitarist to be reckoned within the Canadian music scene . With a firm background in both taste and tone, Brendan's musical pyrotechnics have gained him national acclaim. "The Gigrig is truly brilliant, in both function and aesthetics. The possibilities are truly endless with this beast!"

Phil Hilborne - We Will Rock You
Phil is known as the hardest working guitarist in the UK today. Check out the 'TONE ZONE' of the April edition of Guitar Buyer where he talks about his pedal board featuring TheGigRig Pro-14. |Hershel Yatovitz - Chris Isaak |

Jim Homes - Jackson Analogue
Jim is the brilliant guitarist from 'Jackson Analogue'." For years all of my vintage and handmade pedals were confined to the studio, their lack of stability causing too many problems live. The Gig Rig Pro-14 changed all that. I can now balance up and use all my pedals without any loss of tone what so ever. "
James is one of the top sesion and performing bass players on the London Scene today. A large part of his sound relies on use of multiple effects and has employed TheGigRig Pro-14 for nearly 3 years now to ensure the best tone possible from his gear.
